Finding quality videos for your lessons can be difficult at times. Between the vast—and mostly empty—pools of videos offered by YouTube and Vimeo, you could easily come up empty handed; primarily because both sites accept content from anyone about any subject. However, FHSU provides a service that you could come to find invaluable. Forsyth Library hosts NBC Learn, a staggering repository of videos designed to provide educators with superb, instructional materials.
NBC Learn is full of amazing functions: seamless integration with your Blackboard courses, full transcripts of videos (making it 508 compliant), and highly detailed metadata. Faculty can access NBC Learn on the Blackboard homepage or by using the NBC Learn Mashup available in their Blackboard courses. Finally, Forsyth Library and NBC Learn are happy to work with faculty to help “[align] our resources to your content areas and course syllabi.” Faculty can submit their syllabi to NBC Learn and gain assistance in compiling videos to implement in their courses.
