Blackboard Inline Grading upgrade Open lab
January 12 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pmFree
In Blackboard, there is an Inline grading feature that works for ‘Assignment’ and ‘SafeAssign’ submissions. This feature allows an instructor to annotate and comment on a students’ paper. Up until now, Blackboard has been partnering with the software provider, Crocodoc to facilitate this service. Blackboard has informed us that, as of January 2018, Crocodoc API will no longer be supporting this feature and that they will transition to “New Box View”. The end of life date for the Crocodor API is January 15, 2018. At which point the current inline grading feature will cease to function.
The following link will provide more details on the transition and is particularly relevant for those that currently use the inline grading feature as well as those that might consider doing so in the future: Inline grading.
What will happen after the upgrade?
Once the upgrade is completed nothing will change immediately. We plan to move over to the New Box View on Friday, January 12th at 08:00 AM. The transition will take about 2 hours and you will be able to access Blackboard during that transition.
What can you expect?
|Over 100 different file types supported||Drawing and strikethrough will no longer be available as annotation tools|
|Videos and images will be displayed||The ability to download files with annotations will no longer be available|
|Comments and highlighting|
|Annotations made using Crocodoc will be saved|
