R. Michael Paige, Ph.D., cofounded the University of Minnesota’s Comparative and International Development Education program and the Ed.D. program for International Education. He served as research consultant for Maximizing Study Abroad and the Georgetown Consortium Project and other major studies, and has edited several volumes on culture, study abroad, and international education.
Learning Outcomes: Participants in this webinar will be able to:
- Identify and describe the Developmental Model of Intercultural Sensitivity (DMIS) and the Intercultural Development Continuum (IDC).
- Identify ways the DMIS and IDC can be applied in the context of study abroad.
- Recognize the importance of developmental approaches to student learning abroad
- Identify key research-based findings regarding the development of intercultural awareness
