Janet Bennett, Ph.D., has researched, taught, and written about intercultural communication since the field developed. ICI offers the Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication (SIIC), the Winter Institute for Intercultural Communication (WIIC), and the Qatar Institute for Intercultural Communication (QIIC), as well as the Master of Arts degree in Intercultural Relations. She specializes in developing theory and training methods for individuals who teach, train and manage across cultures.

Learning Outcomes: Participants in this webinar will be able to:

  • Recognize key conceptual components of intercultural competence (What does it mean to be interculturally competent and what difference does it make?)
  • Identify an educational approach to intercultural competence development (How can I specifically train for intercultural competence?)
  • Explore how intercultural competence applies to both domestic and global contexts (Can this bridge really be built?)
  • Recognize practical applications of putting theory into action (It’s useful!)
