TILT 101 Foundations of Online Teaching (online course via Blackboard)

This self-paced online course seeks to provide the FHSU online adjunct with fundamental skills in technology and online teaching, in an immediately-applicable format.
This course will include fundamental Blackboard skills. Pedagogical and non-technical content includes communication in online teaching, retention methods, LDAP and financial aid considerations, academic misconduct, state comprehensive university culture, and FHSU culture and policy. This course is somewhat customizable, so adjuncts will be able to choose which content is most relevant for them.
All faculty are welcome to take this course. Adjuncts completing this course are eligible for a pay increase to the next level of adjunct pay, beginning the semester following completion; e.g., an adjunct who completes this course in Fall 2019 would be eligible for pay increase in Spring 2020. The adjunct pay cap remains in effect.
Adjuncts who have completed TILT 101 Foundations in Online Teaching are eligible to take this course one year after completing the first course; e.g., a faculty member who completes Foundations of Online Teaching in Fall 2019 is eligible to take this course in Fall 2020.
