Robert holds a BA from Columbia University, an M.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, and a PhD from Stanford University. He joined the FHSU faculty in 1968 as a professor of history, retiring from on-campus teaching in 2004. Robert currently serves as the Teaching Excellence Coordinator, providing mentoring, counseling, and sometimes, therapy to faculty members. He visits classes, writes letters of recommendation for tenure and promotion, and offers advice on various matters related to academic life. Robert has a wealth of knowledge for all things FHSU and is a great resource to have.
