Developing Social Empathy in Academic and Student Affairs Programming

In this session, we will explore Allport’s contact hypothesis as a means to develop social empathy in students. This research based approach has been shown to improve relations across social groups and de polarize argumentation. Practical means of implementation in the curriculum and co curricular programming through student affairs will be discussed.
