Blackboard 24/7 Support for Students and Instructors

We are excited to announce significant enhancements to our Blackboard support services: a brand new support portal and expanded 24/7 support.  In alignment with our Digital Master Plan, specifically Recommendation 3, we are expanding our Blackboard support to a 24/7 model. This expansion ensures that all faculty and students have access to assistance whenever needed while maintaining our commitment to personal, familiar support.

New Self-Help Portal

We’re excited to introduce our NEW self-help portal at bbsupport.fhsu.edu, bringing answers to your computer, tablet, or mobile device!

Key Features:

  • Access support services via phone, chat, and the online portal
  • Find help articles and topics to review answers to frequently asked questions
  • Submit web cases and track your requests by clicking ‘My Help Center’ on the website
  • Available 24/7/365, providing help anytime, anywhere

Enhanced 24/7 Support

In addition to our new portal, we’re expanding our support services:

  1. Continued Local Support: Our dedicated Blackboard support team and student workers will remain your primary point of contact during regular hours.
  2. 24/7 Availability: Get help anytime, day or night, throughout the year.
  3. Multiple Support Channels:
    • Phone support: 785-628-5275
    • Live chat through the new portal
    • Web cases for email responses

Your Feedback Matters

We encourage everyone to bookmark our new support portal at bbsupport.fhsu.edu and actively participate in its continuous improvement.

To ensure the information in our new portal is accurate and truly helpful, we need your input:

  • As you use the portal, please let us know if you find any information that needs updating or clarification.
  • If you have suggestions for making the portal more useful, we want to hear them.
  • Your honest feedback is crucial in making this a valuable resource for everyone.

To help students adjust to the changes in Blackboard Ultra, TILT has designed a lesson specifically for students.

The following lesson covers:

1. Accessing Course Content

2. Submitting an Assignment

3. Contributing to Discussion Board Posts

4. Checking Grades

These tutorials will help students learn the activities in Ultra essential to their success.

Blackboard Ultra Base Navigation

INTRODUCING:
BLACKBOARD ULTRA BASE NAVIGATION

From the moment you log in, you have access to core features in the list where your name appears. You can easily return to the list from wherever you are—even if you’re in a course. The list peeks from behind the other layers you have open. The activity stream displays all the action in all your courses.

When you select any link from the list, you see a global view across all your courses. For example, Grades shows all your grading tasks organized by course. No need to navigate to each course to see what’s ready for grading.
